So here’s the second workshop I went to in 2014: Photo Coterie in Oregon.
And … I have no words.
I met Dylan and Sara, Phil Chester, and Ryan Muirhead – whose work I didn’t know (have I been living under a rock?)
And if Ryan’s work was… a revelation ; meeting Ryan and getting to know more about him and his story… That was something else. I don’t know how to describe it.
Let me say that before the workshop, I had not much faith left in myself and my abilities. I felt like crap, like everyone was better than me. Like my work was simply NOT. GOOD. ENOUGH.
It wasn’t only Ryan. It was all of them. And when I say all of them, I talk as much about the “teachers” than the “students”. It was a refreshing wave of new challenges. And some slaps in the face also, but well-needed ones, so, that’s okay. After going there, I have much more work to do. But I know that what I need is already there, I just have to dig it up and put it up front.
So Thank you all for this intense and deeply appreciated encounter. I wish you all to find peace and some kind of meaning to your everydays.
